Dr. McKenzie Shenk, assistant professor of pharmacy practice at Cedarville University, has been elected chair-elect of the Central Nervous System Practice and Research Network (CNS PRN).

The CNS PRN is a specialty network within the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). The network provides a forum among pharmacists and student pharmacists specializing in disorders of the central nervous system (CNS), such as epilepsy or Alzheimer’s disease and mental health conditions, where they can connect with other pharmacists and share best practices to improve the quality of care for their patients.

Shenk first wanted to become a pharmacist when both of her grandparents were diagnosed with different neurologic conditions. Now as a clinical faculty member and a clinical pharmacist of neurology, Shenk became a member of the CNS PRN to connect with other pharmacists who strive to serve people like her grandparents.

“I hope to be able to support the ongoing efforts of CNS PRN pharmacists across the country in my new role,” said Shenk. “I am passionate about leadership and service, and appreciate the opportunity to serve as a committee leader. Personally, I will benefit from being able to network with other colleagues as well, which will help me serve patients at my practice site more effectively.”
